EXPORT
To save and export bookmarks from Chrome, you can do the following:
- Open Chrome
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner
- Hover over Bookmarks and select Bookmark Manager
- Click the Bookmark Menu Icon
- Click Export Bookmarks
- Select a destination and click Save
You can save your bookmarks to a flash drive, OneDrive, or another location.
Steps for exporting bookmarks to an HTML file:
- Click the three-bar settings icon in the top right of Chrome
- Hover over "Bookmarks" and select "Bookmarks Manager"
- Click "Organize" and select "Export bookmarks to an HTML file"
- Navigate to the location you would like to store the backup, name the file, and select "Save"
Move or export bookmarks to another browser
If you decide to use a different browser, you can take your Chrome bookmarks with you.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Bookmarks and lists
Bookmark Manager.
- At the top, select More
Export Bookmarks.
Chrome exports your bookmarks as an HTML file. Use this file to import your bookmarks into another browser.

Import Chrome bookmarks & settings
You can switch browsers without losing your settings and bookmarks for your favorite websites. Depending on the browser, your settings can include the following info:
- Browsing history
- Default homepage
- Bookmarks
- Default search engines
- Saved passwords
Add bookmarks to Chrome
To import bookmarks from most browsers, like Firefox or Safari, follow that browser's instructions to save or export bookmarks as an HTML file, then:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Bookmarks and lists
Import bookmarks and settings.
- Select Choose file.
- Choose a file and select Open
